Rejected equivalences Link to section: Rejected equivalences

Each pair below names two things that are often conflated. ECZ-ID treats them as distinct.

Equivalences ECZ-ID rejects
Not equalWhy the distinction matters
Identity ≠ AuthorityKnowing who a subject is says nothing about what it may do.
Relationship ≠ DelegationAn employment, ownership or commercial relationship is not, by itself, a grant of scoped authority.
Observed ≠ RecordedSomething seen is not the same as something entered in ECZ-ID records.
Recorded ≠ EvaluatedA record exists before, and independently of, any assessment of it.
Evaluated ≠ MediatedAn evaluation is not an intervention in the action it evaluated.
Mediated ≠ EnforcedMediating a request does not mean the outcome was enforced.
Allow ≠ Downstream action occurredPermission to act is not evidence that the action happened.
Receipt ≠ Objective external-world truthA receipt records an ECZ-ID system event or reference; its evidential meaning depends on its source and context.
Website documentation ≠ Current operational stateThis site explains the model. Current proof is re-verified in Resolver.

Reading ECZ-ID language Link to section: Reading ECZ-ID language

Resolver
“Resolver shows the current public proof and state available for this ECZ-ID.” It does not show private state or guarantee anything about the subject.
Documentation
“This document explains the ECZ-ID model; current proof is re-verified in Resolver.”
Receipts
“A receipt records an ECZ-ID system event or reference; its evidential meaning depends on the source and context.”
Authority and delegation
“Authority and delegation are scoped, and are not inferred solely from identity or relationship.”

Claims ECZ-ID public surfaces do not make Link to section: Claims ECZ-ID public surfaces do not make

Without specific evidence, ECZ-ID public surfaces do not imply regulatory approval, certification, standards endorsement, customer adoption, safety, compliance, creditworthiness, insurance acceptance or the truth of facts outside ECZ-ID records.

Reading the accountability chain Link to section: Reading the accountability chain

ECZ-ID canonical accountability chain, ten stages.
  1. IDENTITY
  2. AUTHORITY
  3. DELEGATION
  4. INTENT
  5. CURRENT STATE
  6. DECISION
  7. ACTION
  8. RECEIPT
  9. EVIDENCE
  10. RE-VERIFY

Every stage is separate. Where an explanation uses only part of the chain, it is labelled as a subset, as on the Authority Model page.

Why leave this site
This page explains rules. It cannot show whether a particular ECZ-ID, Passport or binding is current.
Where you go
Resolver (resolver.ecocitizenz.org)
Authority there
Current public proof: a read-only projection of backend-controlled state.
What happens next
Open the ECZ-ID or Passport record and re-check its current public status before you rely on it.
